In creating the artwork for Lawrence Krauss’ new publication, “Critical Mass,” I wanted to capture his love for science and his stand against superstition and religious dogma in a simple design.
The title itself, “Critical Mass,” inspired the concept of an intersection, where science and culture come together. I aimed to convey Lawrence’s fun personality through the visuals while also hinting at the idea that science and everyday life can meet and interact.
The design serves as a kind of bridge between the complex world of theoretical physics and the broader culture, inviting people to explore and engage with the ideas in “Critical Mass.”
Art, music, literature and science all change our perspective about our place in the cosmos. But Science does more than this. It provides a unique process that has allowed humanity to uncover the world as it really is and not how we want it to be.
Working with Lawrence on this design was a joy. My thanks, as always, goes to the Substack team for making the connection possible & to Lawrence Krauss for his incredible kindness & generosity.
